Getting to Bunbury and around Bunbury

There are several options for getting to Bunbury, including travelling by personal car, hiring a car, taking the South West Coachlines bus line, or the TransWA bus line, and, later in 2026, the Australind Train service is scheduled to return to regular services between Perth and Bunbury.

Driving to Bunbury from Perth

Travelling by car on the Kwinana Freeway and the Forrest Highway takes approximately two and a quarter hours. Perth to Bunbury can also be accessed via the South Western Highway, passing through several small towns along the way. The Bunbury Outer Ring Road (Wilman Wadandi Highway) connects the Forrest Highway to the Bussell Highway and has several exits to Bunbury, including through Australind via Paris Road. Check with Main Roads if any planned works may affect your journey.

Travelling by Bus

Call into the Bunbury Visitor Centre, 1 Arthur Street, Bunbury, for South West Coachlines bus timetables and ticket bookings. These buses arrive and depart from the Central Bus Station, corner of Wellington and Haley Streets, Bunbury. All TransWA buses depart from the Bunbury Terminal on Picton Road Bunbury. Tickets and timetables for these services can be processed online at www.transwa.wa.gov.au or phoning 1300 6622 05.

Tickets can also be processed in person at the Bunbury Terminal, Picton Road and Central News (Newsagency) 124 Victoria Street, Bunbury.

Local TransBunbury buses departing the Central Bus Station carry passengers to the Bunbury Terminal to align with bus departures.

The Bunbury Visitor Centre hold timetables for the local buses (Trans Bunbury), which travel to Bunbury suburbs as well as south to Gelorup and Dalyellup and north to Australind, Eaton and Millbridge. Trans Bunbury buses arrive and depart from the Central bus station, corner of Wellington and Haley Streets, Bunbury.
