Bird flu update: precautionary measures at Bunbury Wildlife Park

As the H5 bird flu situation in WA continues to evolve, Bunbury Wildlife Park is maintaining precautionary measures to protect the animals in our care.

There has been no detection of avian influenza at the Park. As a precaution, our walk-in aviaries remain closed (birds can still be viewed from outside the enclosures) and feed bags are unavailable. The Park otherwise remains open as usual.

The State response is being led by DPIRD, alongside DBCA, the Department of Health and local governments. We are following their guidance and will adjust our measures as advised.

How you can help: if you see sick or dead birds or marine mammals, please avoid handling them, take photos or video, note the location, and report to the Emergency Animal Disease Hotline on 1800 675 888.

Please also keep pets away from wildlife.  For more information visit Bird flu (Avian influenza) - DAFF
