Following detections of H5 bird flu (avian influenza) in wild seabirds in Western Australia, the City of Bunbury is supporting the State response and taking precautionary steps across relevant City-managed areas.
The response is being led by the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD), working with DBCA, the Department of Health and local governments.
To date, all WA detections have been in individual migratory seabirds. There have been no detections in poultry, and none at City sites. Bird flu is a low risk to people.
How our community can help - Avoid, Record, Report
