Bunbury Regional Art Gallery's Artist in Residence Program supports artists at all stages of their practice through the provision of dedicated studio space within a public gallery environment.
The residency offers artists time and space for creative development, research, experimentation, and engagement alongside BRAG’s exhibition and public programs. The residency is development-focused, supporting process, exploration, and professional growth. Artists interested in developing exhibition outcomes may also choose to be considered for the Pivot Artist Incubator Program and associated curatorial feedback opportunities.
Applications are open to artists working across all disciplines. BRAG welcomes applications from a diverse range of practitioners and is committed to supporting an inclusive and accessible arts environment.

Current Open Application Residence Periods
- August – November 2026
- November 2026 – February 2027
Applications open Monday, 8 June and close Tuesday, 30 June 2026.
Applications will be assessed by a panel of BRAG staff based on the strength of the proposed residency, suitability to the gallery environment, alignment with the aims of the program, and resonance with BRAG’s broader programming and concurrent exhibitions.
Please note that accommodation and travel are not provided as part of the residency program and are self-supported by the resident artist. BRAG can provide letters of support for artists applying for external funding related to the residency.
