Following the recent detection of avian influenza (bird flu) near Esperance, and as a precaution to protect the animals in our care, Bunbury Wildlife Park is making a few temporary changes to its operations:
Published 20 June 2026
- Walk-in aviaries are temporarily closed. Visitors can still view these birds from outside the enclosures.
- Feed bags are unavailable until further notice.
Importantly, there has been no detection of avian influenza at the park. These measures are purely precautionary and have been taken as responsible interim steps while we seek further advice from the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions (DBCA).
The park remains open as usual, and our team will be on hand to answer any questions during your visit.
We thank our community for their understanding and support, and will provide further updates here as additional advice is received.
Members of the public can report sick or dead birds or marine mammals to the Emergency Animal Disease Hotline on 1800 675 888.
