The City of Bunbury has released its draft Strategic Community Plan for its last round of community consultation.
The plan is the City’s highest level planning document and was developed independently with extensive community input. It outlines the vision, goals and objectives of the community for the next 10 years.
The plan also helps inform the City’s long-term financial planning including the Corporate Business Plan and the annual Budget. These documents operationalise the Strategic Community Plan by setting priorities on how the goals and objectives will be achieved.
Bunbury Mayor Gary Brennan said the document was the result of extensive community consultations held throughout 2017, with more than 1500 members of the community providing input.
“These consultations were made in a variety of ways which has enabled us to identify what is important to our community, both now and into the future,” Mayor Brennan said.
“This plan belongs to the community, thank you to those who participated in the various surveys, workshops, community conversations and focus group sessions.
“By sharing your visions and aspirations, you have helped shape the vision, themes, goals and objectives for the City of Bunbury for the next decade.
“Council looks forward to partnering with all members of our community, the State Government and other key stakeholders to help the City achieve our shared vision.”
