The winners of the Bunbury Geographe Sports Awards are set to be announced this Friday!
The annual awards recognise athletes, officials, volunteers and sporting events from across the Bunbury Geographe region.
Hosted by Jaysen Miguel, Bunbury Mayor and the City, the awards recognise Bunbury Geographe’s finest and most talented contributors to sport in the region with awards across several categories.
The renowned Myles Junior Sports Star and AJ (Tood) Buswell South Western Times Sports Star of the year awards will also be presented at the ceremony being held at Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre.
Congratulations to all finalists, listed below.
- Myles Junior Sports Star of the Year: Ryan Leatherbarrow, Jay Pfoeffer and Mitchell Tuckey.
- Para-Athlete of the Year: Miranda Kiewart
- Team of the Year: City of Bunbury Surf Life Saving Club and Pickleball Bunbury Inc.
- Official of the Year: Paul Lever, Tammie Reid and Gary Carthew.
- Coach of the Year: Taarna Cam and Mickie Castieau.
- Service to Sport – Volunteering: Connie Hughes, David O’Connor and Ron Trezise.
- Event/Program of the Year: Pickleball Bunbury Inc (South West Pickleball Teams Tournament 2023), Bunbury United Soccer Club (Bunbury Junior Soccer Carnival) and Bunbury Swimming Club (Bunbury Open Carnival).
