The City of Bunbury has launched its Safer Community Network website providing an all hazards approach to community safety and emergency management.
The website was developed in collaboration with the Department of Fire and Emergency Safety and WA Police.
The aim of the network is to empower the community to be resilient to emergency events, through social connection and recognition of the value of a shared-responsibility approach.
The Safer Community Network offers the opportunity to become part of a network of people who know what to do, when to do it and where to go for help when things go wrong.
Becoming part of the network allows members to receive information and opportunities based on the needs of their community, strengthen their neighbourhood connections, give feedback and receive up-to-date news and knowledge regarding current community safety and emergency trends and tips.
The website also lists who to contact in the event of an emergency and provides information on each of the services.
Mayor Gary Brennan said the website was an example of the City of Bunbury working together with emergency services to deliver a cohesive approach to safety and emergency management.
“I encourage the community to visit the website and sign up to the network,” Mayor Brennan said.
“The website is simple to navigate and has a host of relevant and important information readily available and will be regularly updated.”
