City rolls out economic workshops

City of Bunbury is rolling out a series of webinars and workshops to support local businesses with their economic recovery post COVID-19.

As part of its Relief and Recovery Plan, the City is offering the free online workshops to provide support in two separate areas.

The first series of workshops will focus on the COVID-19 grants and subsidies available to businesses, providing them the opportunity to learn about what is available along with expert tips to help build capacity.

The online workshops will be presented by senior consultant and grants program expert Dominique Monteleone, with each 60-minute session jam-packed with tips and take-home tip sheets covering topics such as business support, government grants, the application process and simple acquittal.

These workshops kick off on 30 June at 10am to 11am with the remaining sessions on July 1, 2pm to 3pm and July 2, 6pm to 7pm.

Bunbury Geographe businesses are eligible to take part and can register through Eventbrite

The second series of workshops involve four weekly sessions, which can either be attended in person or online and will cover the following topics:

  • Moving Your Business Online – clicks and mortar;
  • Online Best Practice;
  • Best Practice Marketing 2020 and Beyond;
  • The Business Model of the Future: Connect and Collaborate.

The City has partnered with Business South West to provide these workshops with the first cycle to start in late July.

City of Bunbury CEO Mal Osborne encouraged local businesses to take advantage of the free workshops.

“The City, through its Relief and Recovery Plan, has engaged with local businesses and listened to what they need through and beyond these challenging times,” Mr Osborne said.

“While there may still be challenges ahead for our business community, I hope many will take part in the City’s workshops as we continue to work towards a greater level of normalcy and a thriving business community.”

The grants workshops will have a focus on existing subsidies and relief packages for Bunbury Geographe businesses.

More details on the second series of workshops will be released closer to the start date.
