Creating a calmer, more inclusive space for our community.

South West Sports Centre is introducing Quiet Access Sensory Sessions, a trial initiative designed to reduce noise and visual stimulation, making our facility more accessible and comfortable for individuals who are sensitive to busy or high-stimulus environments.
During these sessions, we will:
- Lower music levels across the centre
- Turn off water features in our Aquatic Centre
- Encourage a quieter, more relaxed atmosphere
Session Times (6-week trial):
Wednesdays | 2:00pm – 3:00pm
Fridays | 7:30am – 8:00am
Sundays | 3:00pm – 4:00pm
*Commencing from Wednesday, 22 April 2026
All members and casual visitors are welcome during these times. We kindly ask everyone to be mindful and help us maintain a calm, low-stimulation environment.
While we will take all reasonable steps to minimise noise, please note that the facility cannot be completely free of stimuli. For individuals with higher sensory needs, we recommend considering personal support strategies or attending with a carer where appropriate.
A quieter space can benefit everyone, offering a chance to slow down, reset, and enjoy the centre in a more relaxed way.
For more information, please speak to our friendly team during your next visit to the Centre.
