From Wednesday, 7 October 2026, renovation works have commenced at the neighbouring Bunbury Badminton Centre, resulting in some temporary changes to parking and access around the South West Sports Centre.
Published 08 October 2026
While the works are underway:
- 17 parking bays will be temporarily unavailable
- The pedestrian pathway between SWSC and the Bunbury Badminton Centre will remain open
- Temporary fencing will be installed around the work area
The South West Sports Centre will remain open and operating as usual throughout the works. Members and visitors can continue to access the Centre via the main entrance as normal.
During the temporary parking changes, we kindly ask members and visitors to please avoid parking on the lawn areas at the front of the Centre.
While we understand it can be tempting when you're trying to get to your class or activity, parking on the grass can create safety issues for other visitors, particularly families with prams, young children, and people entering and exiting the building. It can also impact access to the Centre and nearby walkways.
The good news is that with only a small number of bays temporarily unavailable, there is still plenty of parking available across the precinct. We encourage everyone to allow a few extra minutes to find a designated parking space, especially during our busiest times.
These temporary parking changes are expected to remain in place until December 2026.
Thank you for your patience and understanding while these important upgrades are completed.
