This October, the South West Sports Centre is proud to once again support Breast Cancer Awareness Month with a range of fun, engaging and meaningful fundraising activities for members, visitors and families.
Published 08 October 2026, updated 09 October 2026
Throughout the month, our community is invited to get involved, wear pink, challenge themselves, and support an important cause. Every dollar raised will help raise awareness and show support for those impacted by breast cancer.
Pedal Your Way to a Great Cause
One of the key initiatives this year is the Pink Pedal 100 Challenge, encouraging members to stay active while making a difference.
Participants are challenged to ride 100 kilometres throughout October, whether that's during cycle classes, in the gym or out on the road. Progress can be tracked through the Technogym app, making it easy to keep an eye on your kilometres.
Entry is just a gold coin donation, and there's an added incentive for participants who complete the challenge. Every member who reaches 100 kilometres will receive a FREE fortnight on their membership.
At only around 3-4 kilometres per day, the challenge is achievable for riders of all fitness levels and is a great way to stay motivated while supporting a worthy cause.
Calling for Donations
The South West Sports Centre is once again seeking donations of pre-loved books and toys for its popular fundraising Book Stall and Toy Table.
If your family has books that have been outgrown or toys that are still in great condition and ready for a new home, please consider donating them. Donations can be dropped off at Reception throughout October.
Every contribution helps raise valuable funds and gives your pre-loved treasures a second life while supporting an important cause.
Retro Fitness Fun with an 80s/90s Aerobics Class
Get ready to step back in time as the South West Sports Centre hosts a special 80s/90s Pop-Up Aerobics Class on Friday 23 October at 5:45pm.
Participants are encouraged to embrace the retro theme with bright colours, leg warmers, headbands, tracksuits and all their favourite throwback fitness fashion.
A gold coin donation is encouraged, with all proceeds supporting Breast Cancer Awareness Month fundraising efforts.
Expect plenty of laughs, great music, fitness and community spirit as we sweat for a cause.
Please note: Our regular 5pm BodyPump class will be cancelled for Friday, 23 October as our Group Fitness team prepares for this pop-up event.
Turn Group Fitness Pink
From 19-25 October, Group Fitness members are invited to take part in Pink Week.
Whether you're attending your regular class or trying something new, simply wear your favourite pink workout gear and make a gold coin donation to show your support.
Pink Week is all about bringing our fitness community together, raising awareness and demonstrating the strength and generosity of our members.
Swim School Mermaid Naming Competition
Our Swim School is getting involved with a magical fundraising activity for younger members.
A special mermaid is looking for a name, and participants are invited to submit their best suggestion for $2 per entry. The winning name will be chosen from all submissions, with funds contributing to our Breast Cancer Awareness Month fundraising efforts.
Guess the Lollies in the Jar
Think you have a good eye for numbers?
The Creche team is running a Sweet Guess Competition, giving visitors the chance to guess how many lollies are in the jar for just $2 per guess.
It's a simple and fun way to support the fundraiser, with every guess helping raise awareness and funds for an important cause.
Raffle for a Reason
Don't miss your chance to win one of our fantastic fundraising hampers through our Raffle for a Reason.
Tickets are available throughout October for:
- 1 ticket for $2
- 3 tickets for $5
The lucky winner will be drawn on 1 November 2026.
Be sure to check out the hampers on display at the Centre and purchase your tickets for the chance to take home some wonderful prizes while supporting a great cause.
