Give Write program returns

The school year is almost over so get ready to empty those pencil cases for a good cause as the Give Write program returns!

The City's Waste Education team has once again partnered with Give Write to repurpose school stationery.

Give Write is a not-for-profit group taking donations of new and pre-loved school stationery to recycle, repackage and re-gift to WA kids who might start the school year with nothing.

As well as helping local families, the program is also aimed at promoting recycling to reduce landfill among numerous other benefits.

Donations will be accepted at the City's Administration Building and at Milligan Community Centre from 11 December until the last week of January.

The following items will be accepted:

•  Blue, black and red pens
•  Coloured pencils
•  Twist-up crayons
•  Erasers
•  Pencil cases
•  Artline pens
•  Unused exercise books
•  Lead pencils
•  Textas
•  Rulers
•  Sharpeners
•  Glue sticks
•  Highlighters
• Calculators

A sorting day will be scheduled for next year so watch this space for updates as volunteers will be most welcomed!
