Discover the Poet Within You with Pam Vercoe
Have you ever wanted to write poetry but weren’t sure where to start?
Join local poet, artist and author Pam Vercoe for a relaxed and inspiring three-hour workshop designed to help you discover the poet within.
Drawing on ideas from her book The Poem in Your Soul, Pam will introduce you to the simple building blocks of poetry and show you how everyday moments, memories, thoughts and feelings can be transformed into meaningful poems.
In this friendly, hands-on session, you'll:
- Explore imagery, metaphor, rhythm and other easy-to-use poetic techniques
- Experiment with accessible poetry forms
- Take part in fun and engaging writing exercises
- Build confidence in expressing yourself through words
No previous experience is needed. You don't need to know the rules of poetry or arrive with a poem already written. Just bring a pen, a little curiosity and a willingness to play with words.
By the end of the workshop, you may even have written a poem of your own.
Suitable for complete beginners, curious writers, budding poets, and anyone who has ever wondered, "Could I write poetry?"
