The City of Bunbury is an ideal place to host all kinds of events, from community festivals, concerts, adventure sports, marathons, and much more. There are a large number of reserves, parks, buildings, and locations available for hire which are suitable for small or large events, including spaces for weddings, busking, street appeals, and information distribution.

Christmas in the City is an annual event, that takes place on the second Sunday in December at Bicentennial Square and the Bunbury Central Business District. The family friendly event has three elements; the Festival, Street Parade and Carols Concert. This event usually attracts around 10,000 to 15,000 people and brings the wider Bunbury community together at the start of the festive season.

Australia Day takes place annually at Bicentennial Square on the 26 January. The day kicks off at 6.30am with the Australia Day breakfast, followed by the afternoon celebrations, where you’ll find something for all age groups and demographics to enjoy. The highlight of the event is by far the fireworks spectacular when Bunbury lights up! This event usually attracts around 45,000 – 50,000 people.

To ensure your event is delivered safely and of the highest quality, the City’s Events Team can provide assistance to applicants to:
- Discuss venue options for your event
- Provide assistance in booking a Council venue/ground
- Provide advice in event management
- Assistance in applying for and obtaining relevant event permits
- Provide information on Council funding programs
- Provide options and referrals on local businesses, entertainment and activities
