Bunbury is home to an array of exciting community events as well the City’s annual events Christmas in the City and Skyfest.

Christmas in the City is an annual event, that takes place on the second Sunday in December at Bicentennial Square and the Bunbury CBD. The family-friendly event includes a street parade, entertainment, food trucks, market stalls and activities. This event attracts about 10,000 to 15,000 people and brings the wider Bunbury community together at the start of the festive season.

Skyfest takes place annually at Bicentennial Square on the 26 January. The day kicks off at 6.30am with the Mayor's Breakfast and Citizenship Ceremony followed by the afternoon celebrations, where you’ll find something for all to enjoy. The highlight of the event is the fireworks spectacular. This event attracts about 45,000 to 50,000 people to Bunbury.

We are currently looking for volunteers to help out at both our major events.

Volunteers will be awarded with the following for their efforts:

  • Bunbury Forum voucher
  • Froth Bunbrewery voucher
  • Bunbury Farmers Market voucher
  • Summer Lovin souvenir t-shirt

We also have an opportunity for a Bunbury-based community group, club, or non-profit organisation to make some extra funds.

We are looking for a group to help with waste management at both major events.

This will include placing bins throughout the event area before the event starts, monitoring bins for replacement if full, picking up rubbish/litter on the ground, placing bins in location for collection after the event ends.
