The City will undertake essential maintenance works at Koombana Beach playground from 22 to 24 December.
Contractors will be sanding and sealing 162 wooden bollards surrounding the playground area to ensure the continued safety and longevity of the facility.
Works will be conducted in stages, with approximately 10 bollards treated at a time. Affected areas will be clearly marked with bunting and safety cones as work progresses, allowing the majority of the playground to remain accessible throughout the maintenance period.
All timber will be treated with a non-toxic, water-based timber sealer that is safe for children and the environment.
The playground will remain open during this time, though visitors may experience minor disruptions in sectioned-off areas.
