Hastie Street beach access now open

The latest upgrades to beach access stairs at Bunbury’s beautiful Back Beach are complete and now open!

The impressive new-look, wooden staircase near Hastie Street includes 77 stairs winding down to the beach with a top and middle viewing deck, seating, and handrails.

This is just the latest beach accessway to be upgraded. We are proud to deliver these projects for our community because we know access to our amazing coastline is important.

Did you know? The City recently adopted its 2024-25 budget which includes another $277,000 to continue replacing boardwalks, lookouts and beach access stairs.

Further, an objective within our Disability Access and Inclusion Plan is to increase accessibility to our beaches and waterfronts with a review of beach access outlined for the 2026-27 year.
