A concept drawing of the proposed Hands Oval facilities

In another exciting step forward in the redevelopment of Hands Oval, the State Government has announced an additional $3 million for the project.

This highly anticipated project will see the building – currently home to the South West Football League – replaced with a sustainable and inclusive multi-use precinct with both men’s and women’s changerooms, an impressive grandstand and office space.

Alongside the quality playing surface and lighting already in place, the upgrades will see Hands Oval become the home of AFL and elite sport in the South West.

This project is not only an important one for Bunbury’s sporting fraternity, but the entire community and South West region.

With preliminary works already underway, and the escalation of building costs currently being experienced on infrastructure projects across the country, this additional funding is greatly welcomed.

The City is also working with SWFL to help minimise the impact on the upcoming season. The funding partnership between the City, State and Federal governments and South West Football League for this exciting project, proves this is a worthwhile investment for Bunbury.
