Mayor Jaysen Miguel had the pleasure of visiting an inspiring local group that embodies the heart of our community
We recently had the honour of formally presenting our 2026 Citizen of the Year award to Lisa Thompson, and today Lisa welcomed the Mayor to Collective Connections to share a glimpse into the passion and purpose behind her work.
The Wednesday Cahoots Social Group was buzzing with creativity and laughter. It was clear this is far more than just a social catch up, it is a space where adults living with disability and support workers can build friendships, express themselves, and grow in confidence.
Collective Connections is proudly volunteer-led, and Lisa’s dedication has created a warm and welcoming environment where everyone feels a genuine sense of belonging. A highlight of the morning was seeing big smiles as participants proudly tried on the Mayor’s chains for a fun photo moment.
Congratulations again, Lisa, and thank you to everyone at Collective Connections for such a special morning. Bunbury is better because of people like you!
