The City of Bunbury is establishing a City Centre Activation Advisory Group to provide expert advice and guidance on projects and initiatives designed to revitalise Bunbury’s City Centre, enhancing it as a vibrant and welcoming place for businesses, residents, and visitors.
Like many regional city centres, Bunbury is evolving. Rather than waiting for change to happen, we’re taking proactive steps to shape the future of our City Centre. This is your opportunity to be part of the solution! Bring your ideas, experience, and energy to initiatives that will revitalise Bunbury as a thriving hub for business, culture, and community.
We are now inviting expressions of interest from individuals with relevant skills and experience who want to join this group and play a role in activating our City Centre.
Bunbury already has strong foundations with new businesses, a growing creative and cultural scene, a booming events calendar, and strong community appetite for activation and change. The advisory group will help us build momentum, ensuring our activation program responds to real opportunities and community priorities.
About the Advisory Group
The group will work closely with the City Centre Activation group to:
- Provide expert advice and recommendations on strategies, initiatives, and projects to activate and revitalise Bunbury’s City Centre.
- Assist in identifying opportunities, challenges, and priorities for the activation program.
- Review and provide feedback on activation plans, programs, and proposals developed by the City Centre Activation group.
- Encourage collaboration and engagement between local businesses, community groups, and other stakeholders.
- Advocate for and champion central business activation initiatives within the community.
Who Should Apply?
We’re seeking expressions of interest to fill the following voluntary positions:
- 2 representatives from the local business community
- 1 representative from the arts and cultural sector
- 1 representative from the hospitality and tourism sector
- 3 community members with relevant expertise in urban planning, economic development, or place making
Membership is for a two-year term, and the group will meet quarterly (5.00pm to 7.30pm) at the City of Bunbury Administration Building, 4 Stephen Street Bunbury.

Expressions of interest are now open and will close on 10 February 2026. All applications will be considered through a fair and transparent selection process. Please note that only the positions listed in the terms of reference will be appointed to the group, as such not all expressions of interest will be successful.
