Bunbury star on the rise: Eloise Hart nominated for a Logie

Meet Eloise Hart, a proud 10-year-old Yamatji and Noongar girl from Bunbury who's just landed a Logie nomination! Eloise has been nominated for Most Popular New Talent at the 66th Annual Logie Awards, and if she wins, she'll be the youngest ever to take home a Logie.

Eloise fell in love with acting when she was eight, after going along to an audition just to see what it was like. Since then, she's played Anya in Mystery Road: Origin and a young Evonne Goolagong in Goolagong, working with some seriously experienced cast and crew on stories that celebrate First Nations culture.

Eloise is thrilled to be nominated for an award at such a young age. Her favourite part about acting has been meeting all the lovely, kind people along the way, and she happily admits she's had everyone wrapped around her little finger. Too cute!

When she's not busy acting, Eloise is your typical fun-loving 10 year old. She's kind, creative and curious, and loves hanging out with family and friends, listening to music, swimming and dancing. She's also a proud Bunbury local through and through, with Honeymoon Pool and Koombana Bay topping her list of favourite spots.

Mum Tahlia Chesson says watching Eloise chase her dream has been pretty surreal.

"You always hope your child is happy and healthy, but to see them not only do that but live out their dream of being an actress and excelling in it is such a surreal experience," Tahlia said.

Finding out about the Logie nomination was a moment the family won't forget. "I was frozen with shock, and then I was bouncing around, crying, and might have scared a kid or two in the process," Tahlia laughed.

It turns out Eloise has always had a bit of star quality. "She's always been a performer at heart, even singing around the house at three years old. It's definitely rubbed off on her little sisters too," Tahlia said.

But for Tahlia, it's not the acting that makes her proudest. "Everyone who has ever met her knows she is the kindest, most caring and empathetic girl. Yes, watching her achieve these incredible things at such a young age is amazing, but it's her values and morals that I'm most proud of."

Eloise is off to Sydney next month for the big night, and she's already planning a trip to the zoo while she's there. She'll be dressed to impress too, in a custom pale sparkly blue dress being made by a lovely seamstress in Perth, recommended through the Bunbury Mums Group on Facebook.

Good luck Eloise, Bunbury is cheering you on! It would mean the world to Eloise and her family to see the community get behind her, so if you've got a minute, cast your vote and show your support.
