Work to upgrade the roundabout and intersection at Blair and Clarke streets in South Bunbury will start this week.

These essential upgrades will help to increase safety and improve usability of this popular intersection and include a road realignment and full asphalt reseal.

The minor realignment will provide a safer approach for motorists travelling north towards the roundabout.

This project is part of the City’s commitment to improving road safety for all road users including motorists, pedestrians and cyclists.

Given the extent of this project, the Blair Street northbound lane from Halsey Street to Clarke Street will be closed while works are underway from Thursday 23 May. It also means there will be no access to Clarke Street via the roundabout from either direction.

Detours and traffic management will be in place for the duration of the project, and we ask that roadusers follow safety directions or avoid the area if they can.

The City apologises for any inconvenience and thanks our community for their understanding and patience while we complete these important road upgrades.

The design concepts are available below.

The project is expected to take about seven weeks to complete. Variable Message Signs have been on site for the past two weeks.
