This April, Bunbury Museum + Heritage Centre will be opening a new exhibition, Enjoying Our Waterfront: Since Forever, sponsored by the South West Development Commission’s Transforming Bunbury’s Waterfront initiative. In the lead-up to the exhibition, we are running a photo competition to find the best images of people enjoying Bunbury’s beautiful waterfront, whether in the distant or not-so-distant past. The waterfront includes the area spanning from Jetty Baths to the Dolphin Discovery Centre.
Entries will be judged in two divisions: Junior Photographers (Aged 16 and under) and All Ages. Winners from each division will receive $200 and will be announced at the exhibition opening event in April.
Entries close Thursday 29 February 2024.
The Top 10 entries as chosen by our judges will be displayed during the exhibition, and a People’s Choice vote will decide on the winner of a third prize.
- Photographs must feature Bunbury’s waterfront, between Jetty Baths and Koombana Bay. Images of other waterways will not be judged in this competition.
- Images must be of a high resolution, suited to printing to at least A3 size. We recommend a minimum of 300 PPI/DPI (3508 x 4961 pixels). They must be in JPEG, PNG, or TIFF format.
- Entrants must hold copyright to the original image, or have the permission of the photographer to use the image.
- By entering the competition, the entrant gives Bunbury Museum + Heritage Centre the unlimited right to use and distribute the image in perpetuity. This may include adding the image to the Museum collection, sharing it on social media, and sharing it with the South West Development Commission.
