Local resident Miriam Mortimore shares her personal story of survival, recovery, and community spirit following the 2024 tornado in Bunbury.

Escape the winter weather and hear from seasoned storytellers and experts sharing the lesser-known tales of Bunbury’s histories with our Winter Warmer program. Always different, always entertaining, all welcome.

When the tornado tore through Bunbury in 2024, it left a trail of destruction and tested the strength of an entire community. Join Bunbury resident Miriam Mortimore as she shares her personal close call and the road to rebuilding her life afterwards.

Free entry, RSVPs are encouraged. Coffee & tea available.


Presenter Bio:

Miriam Mortimore is a professional librarian with over 20 years of experience managing specialist collections for government and large corporations. She is the founder of ‘The Book Merchant’, an online bookstore dedicated to curating and preserving Australian and Western Australian history and heritage titles, including rare, out-of-print, and independently published works that might otherwise be lost to time.
