Escape the winter weather and hear from seasoned storytellers and experts sharing the lesser-known tales of Bunbury’s histories with our Winter Warmer program. Always different, always entertaining, all welcome.
Our presenter for this session is Lorraine Carlson
Date: Sunday 16 August 2026
Time: 1.30pm - 3pm
A house can hold more than furniture and memories - it can carry the stories of entire families across generations and continents. Join author Lorraine Carlson as she shares the remarkable history behind Lamorna, tracing the journey from Lamorna Cove in Cornwall to what is now one of Bunbury's most beloved heritage sites, King Cottage Museum. The name Lamorna was lovingly carried from England by Diana Tippett, passed down through generations of her family, and lives on to this day. From the battles between the Irish and English, to the brickmaker who built the original home on Forrest Avenue, to the gold prospectors, pioneer pastoralists, graziers and politicians whose lives all intersected with this cherished place.
Free entry, RSVPs are encouraged. Coffee & tea available.
