Escape the winter weather and hear from seasoned storytellers and experts sharing the lesser-known tales of Bunbury’s histories with our Winter Warmer program. Always different, always entertaining, all welcome.
Our presenter for this session is Peter Murphy
Date: Sunday 2 August 2026
Time: 1.30pm - 3pm
Prescribed burning has long been regarded as an essential tool for bushfire management in Western Australia, but at what cost? Join local author and conservationist Peter Murphy as he examines the evidence around the detrimental effects of controlled burning on public health and the native forest ecosystem. Drawing on years of experience in conservation and nature-based work across the south-west, Peter invites the community to take a closer look at the practice and to consider what we might be losing in the process.
Free entry, RSVPs are encouraged. Coffee & tea available.
