As part of the Bunbury Public Libraries’ Literacy Festival, this fun and interactive workshop with local children’s picture book author and illustrator Gabriel Evans explores the process of creating heartfelt and humorous stories through a visual approach.

Location: Bunbury Public Library - Parkfield Street, Bunbury
Designed for children aged 6-12 years, this session will explore character design, creating an illustration, developing picture book ideas and interpreting text visually.
Spaces are limited and bookings are essential.
Presenter:
Gabriel Evans is an Australian children's book author and illustrator with ten years experience presenting talks and workshops in schools and libraries around WA and NSW.
About the festival:
The City of Bunbury Public Libraries presents the inaugural Literacy Festival, a vibrant, community-focused celebration of reading, writing and storytelling. Across 12 days and 21 events, the festival will bring stories to life through interactive storytelling, inspiring author talks, creative writing workshops, drawing sessions, family-friendly activities and literacy-focused programs for all ages.
The festival promotes essential lifelong literacy skills while showcasing local authors and illustrators. Free or low-cost and open to all, the festival reinforces that literacy is for everyone.
