For over four decades, Stuart Elliott has stood as a defining figure in Western Australian visual arts. Known for his work’s intricacy, craftsmanship, and compelling narrative, Elliott continues to define what excellence in the visual arts is as an accomplished painter, sculptor, lecturer, curator, and writer.
His fictive representations present a world perpetually teetering on the brink of peril due to its own endeavours. His creations portray not idyllic rural landscapes but rather a premonition of an imminent industrial wasteland, capturing the essence of contemporary Western Australian civilization.
Ingress, showing at the Bunbury Regional Art Gallery from 16 December until 18 February 2024, will feature recent paintings and sculptures by Elliott, including his major work, "The Causeway."
The gallery is open Wednesday to Sunday, 10am to 4pm. Entry is always free. See you at BRAG!
