The Bunbury Council governs and makes decisions on local issues including future development, sustainability, economic development, tourism, financial stability and service provision.
The mayor is elected by the community for a four-year term. The City of Bunbury consists of the Mayor and 12 councillors, with elections taking place every two years for half of the council. A normal term of office for councillors is four years.
