The popular leisure pool at the South West Sports Centre is set to receive a major facelift next month.
The 25-metre pool will undergo improvements to ensure the centre’s high standard of safety is continued. This work includes replacing the existing pool liner and upgrading some tiling.
As such the leisure pool will be closed from August 16 to September 21.
During the pool closure there will be some minor changes to the Little Lappers Swim School programs and water walking group fitness classes.
Acting Manager Sport and Recreation James Shepherd said replacing the liner was an essential part of the centre’s pool maintenance program.
“The leisure pool is a highly-valued sought after community asset and we need to ensure it is kept to the highest of standards for our members and community at large,” Mr Shepherd said.
“We have timed the closure to make sure disruptions to our programs are kept to absolute minimum.”
The leisure pool will reopen in time for the September school holidays.
