Landscape Character Study

The City of Bunbury Landscape Character Study: A Visual Assessment of Bunbury’s Built and Natural Environs identifies the visual landscape character of both the built and natural environments by providing a benchmark of observations and analysis of character and amenity across the full spectrum of citywide, local and site specific levels of perspective.

The Study captures the current state of Bunbury in what is termed a ‘Visual Diary’ that simply records the state of streetscapes, landscapes and buildings at this point in time and applies planning principles to determine what aspects of a local area (precinct or suburb) are positively contributing to what makes that area identifiable and unique.

In the long term as these suburbs begin to change and evolve with the growth of Bunbury, these identified contributing elements that make up the character of the local area should be emphasised, preserved and complimented by future development.
