Heritage Awards to acknowledge heritage success stories

Friday, 31 January 2020

Bunbury’s heritage is essential in understanding the story of our City, whilst creating a vibrant, sustainable community for the enjoyment of tourists and local residents.

Since 2008, the City of Bunbury Heritage Awards has aimed to raise awareness of our City’s unique heritage and showcase local heritage success stories.

The awards also acknowledge and encourage excellence in conservation of heritage places and sites.

The Bunbury community is invited to nominate a recent initiative, project or individual that champions the City’s heritage.

There are two categories in the biennial awards – City of Bunbury Award for Excellence in Heritage Building Design and Conservation Work and City of Bunbury Award for Outstanding Heritage Promotion.

City of Bunbury Mayor Gary Brennan encouraged the community to nominate an initiative, project or person, worthy of recognition.

“Bunbury’s heritage is an important story-telling tool that should be promoted and conserved,” Mayor Brennan said.

“The City acknowledges all those who are working hard to conserve our City’s unique and fascinating heritage, and on behalf of our community, thank you.”

Nominations close 5pm Friday, 21 February 2020.

Award guidelines and nomination forms are available on the City of Bunbury website or by contacting Lacey Brown on (08) 9792 7074 or lbrown@bunbury.wa.gov.au
