Call for tourism working group member

‚ÄčAn industry expert with passion and drive is required for a new working group that will provide advice on tourism development and marketing in the Bunbury Geographe region.

The Tourism Advisory Working Group (TAWG) is being formed by the Bunbury Geographe Tourism Partnership (BGTP) Steering Committee in recognition of the important role that tourism operators play in the development of the industry.

The working group provides the opportunity for a Bunbury tourism operator to have direct input on the Bunbury Geographe Tourism Partnership decision-making process.

This will include representing the Bunbury Geographe tourism industry; providing advice and recommendations to the steering committee and the Regional Tourism Marketing and Development Manager; provide input on projects relating to the Bunbury Wellington and Boyup Brook Tourism Strategy Regional Marketing and Action Plans; encouraging industry and operator involvement in activities; and raising community awareness of the value and benefits of tourism.

It is anticipated the group, which will include local government representatives, will meet at least six times per year.

Applicants will need to outline their ability to contribute as a working group member and will need to adopt a broad regional view of the tourism sector and community-related matters.

To apply or for more information, please contact City of Bunbury Acting Manager Tourism, Events and Wildlife Park Isabell Evans on ievans@bunbury.wa.gov.au or 9792 7137.

The expression of interest period closes 5pm Friday, 28 July and applicants will be notified of the outcome in August.
