The City of Bunbury strives to achieve a balanced approach to development that protects residential amenity, preserves heritage and provides clarity to developers.

An application for Development Approval is separate to a Building Application and is required for any type of development that is not exempt by the Local Planning Scheme and the Planning and Development (Local Planning Schemes) Regulations 2015.

It is important to know when approvals are required, and the processes involved in acquiring these. Development refers to a range of building activities from clearing and leveling of land, to construction.

For further clarification, please contact the Planning Department on 9792 7000.
